Free text In Volume 2 of this book, the author presents the "protagonists" in the adoption process who come into play at different stages in the process, before and after an adoption. Through testimonies of adoptive parents, she describes the complexities of the road many have to travel to finally adopt their child. In relation with inter-country adoption, the problem of racism and discrimination (within the extended family, as well as in the society at large) vis-a-vis the adopted child of different racial characteristics from the norm is discussed. One chapter is dedicated to medically-assisted reproduction and ethical problems that may arise from its abuse.
