She presents concerns with intercountry adoption in the UK, pointing out reservations which include possible traffick involving adoption of children from the third world; lack of preparedness of adopters to potential health and behaviour problems they are likely to find in their adopted children; children brought into the country without the proper assessment of a adoption agency on the elligibility of the prospective adoptive parents; national and international efforts needed to guarantee that the rights and best interests of the child are respected in the process of intercountry adoptions. |
