Foster-care Attachment Child-post-adopt-sup Adopt-fam-post-adopt-sup |
Free text | The author explains attachment theory and different forms of attachment disorders that children arriving in foster care can be suffering from. Children often arrive in foster care having suffered from severe abuse and neglect, and will show a variety of behaviour, including aggression or disruption which will evoke negative reactions from caretakers creating a vicious circle which is difficult to break. Chapter 5 offers different types of psychotherapy treatments for 'attachment-disordered' children. The Appendix gives a detailed list of 'Conduct problems of attachment-disorders in foster children'. |
