Free text Report of a meeting convened in Kigali, Rwanda, March, 2001, with the participation of a number of NGOs and UNICEF. Vulnerable children due to armed conflicts, unaccompanied children, extreme poverty, orphaned children because of the AIDS epidemic, were the theme of this meeting. Description of programmes aimed at providing permanent homes to children in need of care. Two workshops were organised - Group I on the Unaccompanied Children's Center, aimed at achieving strategies within the community to reduce the number of these centers and Group II on Community Care, on the reintegration of unaccompanied children and youth within the community.
