Free text Compilation of presentations from the February 1996 international conference on adoption in Caracas, Venezuela. Among the speakers, Chantal Saclier presents the International Resource Centre on the Protection of Children in Adoption; annexed to this presentation is a text of guidelines for proceedings in international adoptions. Presentation by Inge de Colima of ISS-Venezuela on the Venezuelan experience in international adoption and ISS interventions at the national level for the protection of mothers and children, in particular adolescent mothers. Martha Acosta Jácome presents the experience of the Corporación Programa Hogar in Ecuador on domestic adoption. Intervention of Tatiana B. de Maekelt on the problem of child trafficking for adoption as addressed by the Interamerican Convention on International Trafficking of Minors. The special situation of children separated from their parents in cases of natural disasters is illustrated at length with the presentation of the 1997 theme for the International Law Moot Court Competition created several decades ago in honour of Judge Philip C. Jessup and won that year by the team representing Venezuela.
