|Free text||This report has been commissioned to appraise and draw together the main findings of a small Pilot Project on Family Group Conference (FGC) aimed at examining the specific fit between FGC and child protection. It describes the FGC process and the pilot project, analyses and presents findings and recommandations in respect of the main research questions regarding the potential fit between family group conferences an child protection.
FGC originated first in New Zealand. It represents a major new approach for dealing with family crises, as it recognises the crucial significance of the family in relation to securing positive outcomes for children.
