| Free text | Results of an investigation by Terre des Hommes, France on the situation of intercountry adoptions by French parents which were realised through their organisation. The investigation was achieved through the distribution of extensive questionnaires among over 700 families in April and Mai 1989, followed by a series of interviews in November and December 1990. The report is divided into sections that present facts and figures from the questionnaire, and discussions with adoptive parents; comments and conclusions on different aspects of these adoptive families' lives drawn from analysis of this information; samples of the discussions with the parents at the end of the report which gives an insight into their feelings about the adoption experience, as they they are willing to express them; annex 1 is the questionnaire used for investigation; annex 2 contains information on conditions and procedures for adoptions in France. |
