| Free text | Report of a seminar organized in 1996 by the Asociación de Psicólogos de Buenos Aires (APBA) with the participation of professionals working in the field of adoption and medically assisted procreation in Argentina. The central theme of the seminar was that of ethics in the practice of adoption as it meets power; power as in fecundity vs poverty; financial power vs inability to conceive; power of the law and those who uphold it vs those who circumvent it and therefore promote traffick or create situations of misinformation that violate the rights of the adopted child. The participants try to bring accross the message of a need for every profession associated with adoption to question its methods of practice, as well as pressing for an interdisciplinary approach in dealing with all aspects of adoption. |
