Free text | Article from the 24 or 25 June 1989 on the state of inter-country adoption in France; for the author, echoing the terms of a report by the Conseil supérieur de l'adoption, gone are the days when adoptive parents proclaimed that an adopted child was a saved child- international adoption should have nothing to do with humanitarian action. A child must be adopted with its best interests in mind and due respect to its national laws - this includes the possibility of considering only simple adoptions for some cases. Second article filed with this one: L'adoption plénière des enfants étrangers devrait être beaucoup plus limitée by Christiane Chombeau, from Le Monde, 5.07.89; article taken from Enfance Majuscule no 34 on French domestic and inter-country adoption. Article from Libération (13 July 1990) and France Soir (11 July 1990) concerning specific case of contested adoption of a Salvadorian child in France. |
