Free text Organisation dedicated to working with all those involved in adoption, fostering and social work with children and families. Members include social workers, foster carers, general practitioners, paediatricians, psychologists, psychiatrists, health visitors, lawyers, guardians and curators ad litem, and others interested in adoption and fostering. It produces the journal Adoption and Fostering, periodical publication on the subject of adoption, as well as other documents and books. It offers a range of services including: consultancy in a variety of forms; BAAFLink - a national computerised linking service for children and families throughout the UK; Be My Parent - a national bimonthly family finding newspaper featuring children of all ages who need adoptive or foster families; Focus on Fives - a fortnightly newsletter featuring children of 5 years and under who need new permanent families; Scottish Resource Network - a Scotland wide linking service and newsletter.
