Description of legislation such as the code "Muluki Ain" containing provisions for protection of exploitation of children - not effectively used to protect children's rights. Situations of abuse and exploitation of children such as trafficking for adoption, prostitution; the sale of girls by their parents to temples (Deuki system in the Badi community); trafficking of children through India for their organs or sexual exploitation; discrimination of the girl child; child labour in many industries and bonded labour (Kamaiya).
