Free text For this study a sampling of parents having adopted with open adoptions were asked their feelings about it. The responses to questions asked were on the whole positive about the experience, particularly in as far as this would allow them to give information to their children when this was wanted. Among the disadvantages, some adoptive mothers to some form of distress felt when faced with the birthmothers suffering and a certain amount of difficulty in bonding with their child as long as they felt that it was someone else's.
