The child was fostered through the Aide Sociale à l'Enfance and the book gives an account of the lives of this and other families with children placed in their care while pointing out the deficiencies of the system, among which are a lack of preparation, both for the child and the foster family, lack of support, understanding, and recognition, as well as total ignorance and disregard for their needs and wishes by the social services that placed the children. |
