Free text | Account of two projects designed bring counselling and to deal with the specific needs of birth parents who have lost parental rights to their children for whom there is an adoption project, or who have been adopted against their wishes through court orders. Counsellors in both projects come to the conclusion that independent counselling services to help birth parents are needed because social services who are called in at moments of family crisis will have the interests and protection of the children in mind and therefore their views and actions taken will be in conflict with the birth parents. |
