Free text | Launching of the National Initiative for Child Adoption by the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) in collaboration with the Central Adoption Resource Agency (CARA). Its aim is the training of people involved in adoption in a number of different capacities. "Good Enough Institutions - Setting Standards for Practice" was the title of the Working Group meeting of experts in the field of child and social welfare in Bangalore, 11-13 April 2000. The meeting, organised by CRY (Child Relief and You) in collaboration with Adoption Centre, Sweden and the Swedish International Development Agency was meant to identify the weaknessess of residential institutions and ways of making them more "child friendly". |
