Free text Study commissioned by Health Canada, Mental Health Division, and funded by The Strategic Fund for Children's Mental Health and carried out with the participation of Ontario adoptive families of Romanian children on the effects of institutionalization of children and attachment. Results of this first-time study seem to point to early recovery and adequate development with proper response to stimulating homes and caring families. Patterns of attachment seem to be different from Canadian-born children, but mostly to be expected in internationally adopted children.
