Free text Information from Adoption and Fostering (BAAF), Vol 24, No 3, 2000. With a multi-racial team of therapists, counsellors and social workers, using grants from the Department of Health and Access 4, London-based PAC has begun a project to provide a specialist four- to six-month therapeutic programme to black and minority ethnic families post placement or post adoption. The Post Adoption Centre offers a one-year modular programme of specialised training for qualified counsellors, therapists, social workers and health professionals centred on attachment problems presented by adopted and foster children. “The training is designed to introduce professionals to the theories underlying treatment, a range of different treatment interventions, and how these are integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan for the child and their family.”
