Free text | Report on a study regarding the effect of open adoption on adopted children. 171 young children were studied (average age 7 years) to determine how their vision of adoption was altered depending on the amount and the kind of information they had received from their adoptive parents about their birth parents. Results seem to point to no ill effect on the children, no particular confusion and a general curiosity present with variations depending on sex and age. |
