Free text Produced by Caroline Archer, co-ordinator of the Attachment Disorder Parents' Network for PPIAS. There are two main sections to this "pack". The first section is written by C. Archer to give a definition and information about attachment disorder. She describes the Changing patterns of adoption over the years; she explains What is attachment disorder?; gives the Causes of attachment disorders and Twenty common symptoms of attachment disorder; in Beginning to make sense of attachment disorder, two "cyclical models of disempowerment and of re-empowerment" in the form of diagrams explain the mechanisms necessary to "break the cycle". The second section contains personal accounts written by different people concerned with this problem. Description of "Holding Therapy" which has been sometimes advocated for cases of attachment disorders. PPIAS' Attachment Disorder Parents Network explained. Bibliography of books on the subject and useful addresses for help.
