Free text | Summer 1999 issue of this publication: Unlocking the past - The experience of gaining access to Barnardo's records by G. Pugh and G. Schofield is an article on the experience of adult adoptees who sought and received information about their past from the agency Barnardo's where they had been in care or had placed them for adoption when they were children. In Disorders of attachment and attachment therapy the authors, D. Howe and S. Fearnley discuss attachment therapies based on 'cognitive restructuring' and 'therapeutic holding' for children who have not responded to other treatments. The matching of foster carers and children for more successful placements is discussed in Assessing and matching foster care relationships - An interactional framework, by E. Street and M. Davies. A new foster carer training programme in Scotland is evaluated in Foster carers speak about training by H. Minnis, C. Devine and T. Pelosi. |
