Free text Basically, this study draws the profile of the adoptees and the adoptive parents in France. On the side of the adoptees, it shows that most of them come from abroad and that their caracteristics depend a lot of their country of origin. For example, if they come from China, most of them are girls, if they come from South Korea, they are likely to be adopted very young, but if they come from Brasil, they will probably be older. On the side of the adopters, the study shows that most of them are couples; that in average, adoptive mothers are older than other mothers when they get their first child, and that most of the adoptive parents belong to the upper social class. The article tries to explain why the situation is like this.
