Free text Results of a study concerning levels of reading attainments of children aged 8 to 14 years in long-term placement in subsitute families. The attainment results seem to be affected by a number of factors among which are initial plans determining the length and permanency of placement, as well as children's early histories and reasons for placement in foster care. The authors suggest that the creation of stability in placement is of crucial importance for educational attainment of children in care.
