This book reports the findings of a Department of Health funded "catch up" study of a complete sample from one geopgraphical area in England of 130 older children for whom a best interests decision was made in the 1990s. This survey made possible to see what happened to all children approved for aodption, to see for how many adoption was secured, and to track the progress of all the children through the care system. This publication examined the children's ealy lives, the decisions made about them before the best interests recommendation, and the costs and delays in this process. |
