| Free text | The situation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is analysed in a report by the Special Rapporteur, Mr. Muntarbhorn, on the sale of children; various States give account of the position of their countries on the question of children's rights and the application of the CRC; reservations stated on article 21 on adoption (Venezuela); the International Association of Democratic Lawyers denounces the trafficking in organs extracted from indigent children; the Iraqi delegation denouces the economic blockade and destruction of their country by the coalition armies which has caused hardship to the population, including children; the Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo denounce the situation of children who disappeared with their parents during the dictatorship years and who continue missing today-they denounce similar situations in Peru, Guatemala and El Salvador. |
