Free text | The conference brought together 45 countries, civil society organizations, intergovernamental organizations, United Nations agencies, children and young people to examine progress on child rights across the region, and discuss future directions. Its specific aims were to track developments since the First Intergovernamental Conference on Children's rights in Europe and Central Asia in Berlin in 2001 as well as progress on the commitments made at the UN General Assembly Special Session on a World Fit for Children in 2002. The conference was divided in 5 working groups: investing in children, children moving across borders, violence against children, the role of education in combating social exclusion and cities fit for children. |
