Free text The data for this study was gathered through the collaboration of a large voluntary welfare agency, among 350 families who had adopted children internationally. The adoptees where more than 18 years of age, adopted since the mid 1950s. Interviews were conducted by students and where meant to "gauge the psychosocial adjustment of these individuals and their relationships with their adoptive parents, siblings, and extended families." Clinical observations where analysed and showed that most interviewers felt that dysfunctions in these families was not necessarily associated with adoption.
