Free text | Report covering research done on post-adoption support services in the USA, covering mostly those offered to families with children suffering from maladjustment or some form of conflict with their parents. They include information services, peer support, therapy and case management services, as well as adoption subsidies for families in need of support - NAATRIN - National Adoption Assistance, Training, Resource, and Information Network - established by NACAC - North American Council on Adoptable Children, maintains a database on states' policies on adoption subsidies (in some states, this assistance is provided even to families having adopted children privately and internationaly). Other national and state level organisations mentioned in this report as offering support services include AFA (Adoptive Families of America), FACE (Families Adopting Children Everywhere), LAPA (Latin America Parents Association), NAC (Committee for Single Adoptive Parents, National Adoption Center), CASE (Center for Adoption Support and Education) in Washington DC area, CFS (Casey Family Services Program) in New England. |
