Free text The author presents her theory that "all adoptees suffer a 'primal wound' as a result of their separation from the first mother" and discusses some of the ways in which this suffering manifests itself, as well as the effects this can have in the adoptive family's life. She gives advice to adoptive parents so they can recognise the symptoms and therefore better deal with them when they appear. A frensh edition has been published in 2004. It is called "L'enfant adopté; comprendre la blessure primitive" ans is also registered in our database.
