This issue of Accueil is dedicated to the problem of early onset of puberty in internationally adopted children (particularly girls) from third world countries who had suffered from malnutrition before being adopted. The rapid passage from an inadequate diet to a very rich ones seems to be one of the factors involved in this phenomenon which can result in an adult that does not reach normal height. Different professional articles and testimonies deal with various aspects of this condition and give advice to parents so that they can take early action if they detect this to be the case in their children. |
